Rule, Rex Carroll –age 78, of Dandridge, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Life Care Center in Jefferson City. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II. Following in the footsteps of his father, a Methodist Church minister, he was a camp manager for the United Methodist Camps for 20 years including Camp Lookout, Chattanooga, Camp Johnston Woods, Cleveland and Wesley Woods, Townsend. He was a Judicial Commissioner in Jefferson County during his retirement. He was an avid cook and fisherman. Preceded in death by parents, Rev. Perry T. Rule and Dora Lee Parton Rule; sisters, Mary Jo Rule Trent, Eugenia Rule Nabers; brother, Willie Frank Rule; and son, John Thomas Rule.
Survivors
Survivors include wife of 59 years, Margaret Chesteen Rule; children, Carol Jane Rule of Knoxville; Jo Anne Rule of Atlanta, Georgia, Amy S. Rule of Dandridge, Tennessee, Rex J. Rule and wife, Tammy of Friendsville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Judy B. Rule of St. Simon Island, Georgia; grandchildren, Hannah Rule, Cory Rule, Beverly Rule, Katherine Rule, Samuel Rule; brothers-in-law, Dr. C.L. Nabers of Morristown, Tennessee, Ralph E. Trent of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Life Care Center in Jefferson City and Jefferson County Nursing Home in Dandridge.
Service
The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Wednesday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, with funeral service to follow at 4 PM.
