(October 23, 1933 - March 8, 2010) Elizabeth Louella Askew, age76, of Parrottsville, went to be with the Lord, March 08, 2010 at her home after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tilman and Lucy (Henry) Williams; brothers, Tilman Williams, Jr., James Williams, and Thomas Williams all of White Pine, Franklin Williams of Newport, Leroy Williams of El Campo, TX., and Dooley Henry of Dandridge. Sisters preceding her in death were, Wanda Worex and Juanita Moss of Newport and Reba Pettus of Gastonia, NC. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Cecil Askew of Parrottsville; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Roger Smith of Parrottsville; grandsons, Johnny Reece of Dandridge and Justin Reece of Parrottsville; great-grandson, Logan Reece (who was the light of her life) of Parrottsville; and sister, Hazel Keller of White Pine. She is also survived by her special and loving family and caregivers, Dr. Dharmen Patel and staff of Tennessee Cancer Specialist in Greeneville, TN., and Smoky Mountain Hospice and Amedisys Home Health Care. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bobbie Dunford and Rev. Scott Gorrell officiating. Burial will be in Parrottsville Memorial Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Manes Funeral Home. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
