(August 8, 1917 - January 18, 2007) Lucille Brown, age 89, of Newport, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2007 at her home. She was of the Church of God faith. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Meda Lewis; parents, Oscar and Rena Brown; brothers, James, Manning, Melvin, Columbus and Homer Tyre Brown . She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Marlene Brown of Parrottsville; her sisters, Daisey Greene, Beatrice Brown and Vernie Mae Strange all of Newport; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, January 21, 2007 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Raines and Rev. Sonny Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Ray’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Manes Funeral Home.
