Mrs. Daisy Irene Green, age 86, of Newport, passed away Monday, October 31, 2011, at Newport Medical Care.
She was of the Church of God faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Lawson Green, infant daughter Otha Green, infant sons John Green and Jimmy Rodgers Green, her parents Oscar and Renia Brown, brothers Melvin Brown, Columbus Brown, and Homer Brown, sisters Vernie Strange and Lucille Brown, and special niece Meda Lewis.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jay and Linda Green of Newport, grandchildren George Green and Daisy Barnett, both of Newport, and Angela (Mike) Davis of Del Rio; great-grandchildren LeeAnn Marie Green of Newport, Michael Davis, Jay Andrew Davis, and Cheyenne Davis, all of Del Rio; and sister Beatrice Brown of Newport.
Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011, in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Foust and Vickie Free officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011, at Ray's Chapel Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment.
The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home prior to the service.
