Cummings, William “Mayford” age 56 of Maryville passed away Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army and a member of the 278 Army National Guard. Preceded in death by: Grandparents, Artie & Trula Gibson Cummings and James L. & Marinda L. Maples; Brother, James L. Cummings. Survivors include: Wife, Judy Gail Cummings; Son, William A. Cummings of Augusta, GA; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Melinda (Cummings) & William Rogers of Martinez, GA, Bonnie (Cummings) & Wesley Barney of Atlanta, GA; Daughters, Lisa Cummings of Martinez, GA and Jennifer Dorsey Russell of Maryville; Grandchildren, Brandon Ray Dorsey and Kira Nichole Russell; Parents, James & Zelma Cummings; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, John & Maggie Cummings, Donald & Lisa Cummings, Dennis & Connie Cummings, and Danny & Vicky Cummings; Brother, Artie Clifford Cummings; Sister and Brother-in-law, Linda & Donnie Phillips; Special Friends, Joe Stinnett and Bradford Reagan; Mother-in-law, Betty Saul. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2006 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Greg Long, Rev. Charlie Carpenter, and Rev. Tim Stinnett officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Sherwood Mausoleum Chapel for the entombment. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2006, Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
