Henrietta Ann "Sis" Undesser, age 71 of Bristol, Illinois passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 12, 2002, at Provena Mercy Center, in Aurora, Illinois. She was born on September 6, 1931, in Aurora, Illinois the daughter of Frank and Susan (Kartheiser) Augsburg.
Sis was united in marriage on February 3, 1951 at St. Therese's Catholic Church in Aurora, Illinois to Mr. Richard A. Undesser, Sr. and they spent the next 50 happy years of their lives together until his passing on October 8, 2001. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Sis attended St. Therese's Catholic Grade School and was a Madonna Catholic Girl's High School graduate. Mrs. Undesser was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Yorkville, Illinois. She was for over 30 years the organist for St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Bristol, Illinois, where she was also a past officer of its Women's Auxiliary.
Sis and her husband Richard, were the owners and operators of the family business, Undesser's Turkey Farm in Bristol, Illinois. She was, for many years, an avid bowler and the past president and secretary of several bowling leagues and associations. Sis and her husband spent three months of each year, for the past 20 years, as social directors at Fiesta Key K.O.A. in Long Key, Florida. They were very active there in helping to collect funds for the Children's Camping with Cancer Fund.
She is survived by her children, Richard A. (Ann) Undesser, Jr. of Bristol, Illinois, Mary (Bruce) Momsen of Boulder City, Nevada, and John F. (Cindy) Undesser of Bristol, Illinois; her eleven grandchildren, Captain Michelle L. (Alec) Undesser-Ross P.A.-C. of the U.S. Army, Richard A. (Pauli) Undesser III of Bristol, Illinois, Mark A. Undesser of Bristol, Illinois, Michael J. Undesser of Bristol, Illinois, Lance Corporals Aaron and Adam Magnason, both serving with the U.S. Marine Corp in the Persian Gulf, Amy Magnason of Henderson, Nevada, Tabitha Undesser of Urbana, Illinois, J.R. and Austin Undesser both of Bristol, Illinois and Hattie Undesser of Bristol, Illinois; her three great-grandsons, William and Matthew Undesser-Ross, and Richard A. Undesser IV; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Undesser was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Susan Augsburg; her husband, Richard A. Undesser, Sr.; her brothers, Donald and Clarence Augsburg.
A funeral Mass for Mrs. Undesser will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2002 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 406 Walnut St. in Yorkville, Illinois with Father Jerome Zalonis, M.I.C. officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery, Bristol, Illinois.
Friends may call from 2:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2002 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy, Yorkville, Illinois.
