Rudder, Donald “Gene” –age 72, of South Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2005. He was a member of Bells Chapel Church. A longtime insurance salesman with Kentucky Central, Gulf Life and United Insurance Companies. Preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Grace Rudder; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Horace and Delania Rose; brothers, Jimmy and Joe Rudder; sister, Betty Magee.
Survivors
Survivors include wife of 56 years, Joyce Rudder; children and spouses, Gale and Carl Headrick, Donnie and Betsy Rudder, Mickey and Lori Jo Rudder; grandchildren, Karla and Chris Halcomb, Neal Headrick, Brittney, Spencer, Parker, Seth and baby, Zoie Rudder; sisters, Margaret Massey and Linda Bowman; several nieces and nephews.
Service
Family and friends will meet at Chilhowee Cemetery, Boyds Creek Highway, on Friday for 2 PM graveside services, Rev. Harry Mynatt and Jack Evans officiating. Pallbearers will be: David Lawson, Rusty Browning, Kent Holcomb, Billy Burkhart, Buddy McMahan and Guy Davis. The family will receive friends from 5-8:30 PM on Thursday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. Berry Funeral Home (865-577-6666) is serving the family.
