Jenkins named to US Achievement Academy
Mychaela Jenkins, a 2013 CCHS graduate, has been recognized by the United States Achievement Academy as a student of excellence in world languages. Jenkins, who resides in Parrottsville, was nominated by her teacher, Duke Stratton. She is the daughter of Jerry E. and Sandy Jenkins, Parrottsville, and the granddaughter of the late Onie and Ernest Jenkins, and Betty King of Morristown, and the late Jesse L. King. She will enter Walters State Community College this fall.

Jerry E. and Sandy Jenkins of Parrottsville will celebrate their Silver Wedding Anniversary on June 1. They were married in 1990 at Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. Eulas Maddron. She is the daughter of Betty J. King and the late Jesse L. King of Morristown, and he is the son of the late Ernest and Onie Jenkins of Parrottsville. They are the parents of Dianna (James) Gates of Newport and Jerry Lee Jenkins and Mychaela Jenkins, both of Parrottsville. They have two grandchildren, Nathan and Madelynne Gates, both of Newport. She is employed by local attorneys and he is a retired dairy farmer. They met through mutual friends and were later married.
