Mary W. Sisk, age 61 of Newport was the beloved mother, wife, educator and friend to all who knew her, went to be with the Lord, Friday December 2, 2005.
She was a member of Stokely Chapel Baptist Church. She retired from Douglas Cherokee Headstart, where she enjoyed her true passion, teaching. Involvement with the parents and communities where she taught was just an added blessing to her.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sabrina Sisk; father, Jess Lane; sister, Jessie Lane Manning; granddaughter, Laura Mary Jo Sisk and best friend Patricia Dunn. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Lloyd Stanley Sisk; mother, Valeria Hurley of Newport; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Linda Sisk, Chuck and Patricia Sisk; grandchildren, Brandy Hensley, Fenway Sisk and Morgan Sisk; great-grandchildren, Whytani, Kaylei and Malerei; brothers and sisters, Roger Lane, Joseph D. Lane, J.C. Lane, Joe Lane, Beecher Lane, Patricia Perryman, Brenda McGaha, Penny Taylor, Lou Whipple and special niece, Shelly Dunn. She will be sadly missed by a host of extended family, friends and former students.
Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2005 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Cline Franklin and Rev. Ed Parton officiating. Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in Bryant-Sisk Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday prior to the funeral services at Manes Funeral Home. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
