Jack Ray Travis age 73 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. Preceded in death by parents, David & Mae Travis; brothers, Lemuel (Paddle), Charlie, Mike; sister, Margaret Lynn. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ruth Caylor Travis; children, Sue Boring, Donna Reynolds, Barbara (DeWayne) Allen, Ray (Missy) Travis, Jack Ray (Michelle) Allen, Jessica Allen; sister, Catherine “Sis” McKinney; sister & brother-in-law, James W. & Catherine Cobb, Jr.; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous extended family & friends. Special thanks to the staff of Colonial Hills. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Monday, March 14, 2011 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service at 2:00 pm Monday with Rev. Tyson Matoy & Rev. Sammy Thomas, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Development Office, for Cystic Fibrosis Clinic, PO Box 15010, Knoxville, TN 37901.
