OBITUARY:
CORA CARR GREEN, age 98, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday morning, November 16, 2005 at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. She was born in Gatlinburg, TN on October 8, 1907 in a community called Roanin Fork. She moved to Jefferson County with her family in 1929. She was married to the late Claude Green for 59 years. She accepted Christ at an early age at the Raonin Fork Baptist Church, and at the time of her death was the oldest member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Litha Ownby Carr; daughter, Deloris; brothers, John, Robert and wife, Lyda, Otha and wife, Jeanette, Ezra and wife Myrtle. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Alton and Joan Green of Jefferson City, Roger and Susan Green of Morristown, TN, Jerry and Sandra Green of Morristown, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Robert Courtney of Morristown; special brother-in-law whom she cared for, Jesse Green; sister, Mrs. Junior (Martha) Paschel; brother-in-law, Maynard Riner; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Green and Litha Carr; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a host of nephews and nieces; along with her special caregivers at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. November 19, 2005 at Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Reverend Robby Drinnon, Reverend Randy Epps and Reverend Mike Potter officiating. Family and friends will gather at Mountain View Cemetery on Sunday, November 20, 2005 for a 2:00 p.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
