Floyd Paul Rathbone, age 76, of Del Rio, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2005, surrounded by his family at home, following a lengthy illness. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. Mr. Rathbone was retired from Tennessee Department of Transportation, and he was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Sarah Rathbone; one brother, Rosco Rathbone; and one brother-in-law, Jack Foster. He is survived by his wife, Doris Dene Rathbone; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Tammy Rathbone; one grandson, Brandon Paul Rathbone, all of Del Rio; and one sister, Shirley Foster, of Morristown. The family received friends Monday, November 7, 2005, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service in Manes Funeral Home West Chapel, with the Rev. Scott Gorrell and the Rev. Steve Blanchard officiating. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2005, in Fairview Methodist Church Cemetery, Hot Springs, N.C. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
