Paul Lewis Shipley, 75, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, in Sevier County Health Care Facility. Due to a long illness Mr. Shipley resided at Wellington Place for three and a half years.
Mr. Shipley was a native of Madison County. He drove a truck for E.T. and W.N.C. and then for Red Ball Transportation Company. He retired due to illness after 26 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marcia Lee Shipley; father, Walter B. Shipley; mother, Mae Dockery Shipley; brother, Joe Shipley; and sisters, Helen Gardner, Ruby Greene and Louise Shelton.
He is survived by one son, Paul Edward Shipley of Knoxville, Tenn.; son in law, Curtis Henry of Sevierville; granddaughters, Abby and Hannah Henry of Sevierville, Tenn. and Katy Shipley of Seattle; grandson, Paul Burman Hill of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Orville Shipley of Brevard; sister, Addie Mae Taylor of Western, Tenn.; special niece, Donna Maynor of Weaverville; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at noon in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home. The Rev. Charlie Reynolds will officiate. Burial will follow in Bowman Rector Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
