Pittges-Beaver
Mary Leslie Beaver of Rale igh, North Carolina and Jeffrey J. Pittges of Redwood City, California were married on January 31, 1998 at seven o'clock in the evening at White Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. Reverend Brenda Halbrooks and Reverend Guy Fisher officiated the double ring ceremony. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Woman's Club in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Joe Beaver of Salem. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Virginia G. Holshouser and the late Dr. Leslie C. Holshouser and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Robert Beaver. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack D. Pittges of Chicago, Illinois. He is the grandson of Mrs. Hazel Sharkey and the late Mr. Jack Sharkey and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pittges.
The bride, wearing her mother's wedding gown, was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Laurel Beaver, sister of the bride, of Salem was Maid of Honor and Lisa Berger of Moundsville, West Virginia was Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Kay Lawrence of Knightdale, North Carolina, Patricia Povtak of Kure Beach, North Carolina, Susan Shearin of Raleigh, North Carolina and Robbin Tant of Youngsville, North Carolina. Michael Porzycki of Mt. Prospect, Illinois served as Best Man. Groomsmen were William Pittges, brother of the groom, of Alameda, California, David Brogan of Atlanta, Georgia, John DelVecchio of Cary, North Carolina and Randy Womack of Hastings, Minnesota.
Mark Bernhardt, cousin of the bride, read the scripture. Guest registrars were Elmin Pittges, sister-in-law of the groom, and Debbie Clapp. Greeters were Elsie Boyd and Tammy Nance.
The bride is a graduate of North Carolina State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders. Prior to the wedding she was employed as an Ombudsman with the North Carolina Industrial Commission.
The groom received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana and a PhD. from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a senior software engineer in the Query Technology group at Red Brick Systems in Los Gatos, California.
After a Hawaiian honeymoon, the couple will reside in Campbell, California.

Cranite Systems Inc., a San Jose provider of security software for wireless local area networks, named Jeff Pittges VP of engineering. He was director of technology at New Vine Logistics.
