Mrs. Klaveness was born in The Palms, Calif., and attended Los Angeles City College. In the 1930s, she was a costume designer with the Western Costume Co. in California. She had done volunteer work for the Red Cross. In the 1950s and 1960s, she accompanied her husband, Francis A. Klaveness, on Navy assignments to Sweden, Finland, West Germany and Japan. Her husband was a retired Navy captain when he died in 1976. Mrs. Klaveness' survivors include two daughters, Linda K. Wheeler of Alexandria, and Tinet K.
