He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hattie Bryant; brother, Billy Bryant; and step son, Leroy Webb. He is survived by his loving wife, of 47 years, Mozell Bryant of Newport; son, Clifford Lee Bryant, Jr. (Sharon), of Stanley, NC; grandchildren, Tonia LaForce and Jason Bryant; stepdaughters, Katie Ellison (Forest) and Judy Hurley; great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren; also other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 2, 2017 with funeral services following at 7:00 pm with Rev. Junior Gardner officiating.
