Alice Elizabeth Rader, age 96 of Parrottsville, passed away at her home, Saturday, May 13, 2017 with her family by her side from declining health. She was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in which she attended until her health started declining. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Rader; two sons, Eddie Rader and Jerry Rader; parents, Homer and Rhoda Smelcer; two brothers, J.D. Smelcer and Charles Smelcer. She loved baking cakes, sewing, and cracking walnuts. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Laura Rader of Parrottsville; two special grand daughters, Traci and her husband Tony Helton and Crystal and her husband Dallas Sane all of Parrottsville; a brother, Claude Smelcer; a sister, Marie Ottinger of Parrottsville; special sister-in-law, Eldise Smelcer of Parrottsville; three step-grandchildren, Tim and Lois Cutshaw of Bybee, Craig and Lavonda Cutshaw of Newport, and Mark and Misty Cutshaw of Parrottsville; a second love her life, a great-grandson, Colton Helton of Parrottsville; five step-great-grandchildren, Johnathan (Megan) Cutshaw of Newport, Misty Cutshaw Weeks of West Virginia, Caleb (Gwen) Cutshaw of Sevierville, Lindsey Cutshaw of Newport, Candrea Cutshaw of Parrottsville; three step-great-great-grandchildren, Kaylashea (Jacob) Gorman, Damien Weeks, and Kaden Weeks all of Parrottsville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, May 15, 2017 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Cutshaw and Rev. Norman Deal officiating. Burial will follow in Luther Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-1:00 pm on Monday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services. Pallbearers will be Dallas Sane, Mark Cutshaw, Damien Weeks, Kaden Weeks, Chris Smelcer, and Tim Cutshaw. The family would like to thank Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their care, support, and compassion during her sickness. A very special nurse, Heather Jenkins and a special CNA, Carla Groom. She also had special caregivers, Laura Rader, Judy Rader, Traci Helton, Crystal Sane, and Kaylashea Gorman.
