ROBERT “ROBIE” FRANKLIN HARDIN, age 62, of Strawberry Plains, TN entered eternal rest to “Walk” the streets of gold on Saturday, May 30, 2015 following a brief illness. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains. Robie was a 1971 graduate of Rust Strong School and served in the National Guard from September 1972 to December 1977, having completed a tour of duty in Germany. Robie’s favorite past times included hunting, fishing and taxidermy. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Betty Griffin Hardin and Troy Everett Hardin. He leaves behind a brother, Gary Hardin and wife Diane; sister, Nancy Hardin Haggard and husband Jim, all of Morristown. He is also survived by special nieces, Betsy Stibler of Morristown and Mandy Haggard Hoskins of Strawberry Plains; nephew, Gary Hardin II of Morristown; great-nieces and great-nephews include Gabrielle Hardin, Emma Kate Stibler, Avery Marie Hoskins, Joel Hardin, Jacob Hardin, Kirk Wolff and Joey Stibler. Robie was a delight to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by a host of cousins, church family, and many special hunting and fishing buddies who were all honored to have known him. Graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Trentville Cemetery in Strawberry Plains with Rev. Sam Grindstaff and Rev. Ronnie White officiating. Military honors will be presented by VFW Post #5266. Pallbearers will include Tommy Griffin, Michael Watson, Craig Vineyard, Richard Bailey, Billy Clarkson, John Tipton, Brent Hoskins and Gary Hardin II. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home.
