Terry Marcus Baker, age 52, of Newport, went to be with his Lord on Monday, September 19, 2005, at his home after a long illness, surrounded by his family. Terry was dedicated to music 34 years of his life. He toured with Janie Frickie for three years, along with various other artists.
He was preceded in death by his father, Randolph "Coon" Baker; sisters, Molly Baker and Evelyn Marshall; and brother, Randy Baker.
Terry is survived by his mother, Evelyn Baker, of Newport; brothers, Ron Baker and wife, Ann, of Cleveland, Tenn.; Bobby Baker and his wife, Sandra, of Newport; and Darrell Baker, of Seymour; nieces, Evangeline McGaha, Jennifer Lynn Baker, Suzanne Adams, Madison Baker; nephews, Chris Baker, Brian McMahan, and Marcus Baker; special friends, Bill Warren, Don Gorman, Pat Mason, KD Forsha, James Waldrop, Jane McVay, Virgil Phillips, and Billy Greer; and many other friends. The family wants to say a special "Thank You" to everyone at Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at Manes Funeral Home West Chapel with Brother Bill Merritt and the Rev. Delbert Robertson officiating.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2005, in Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smoky Mountain Hospice or to the Cocke County High School Band.
