O'DELL, WADE SANFORD - 79, of 260 Old Jonesboro Road, Afton, TN, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 15, 1998 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. He was a farmer and breeder of premium livestock. He raised some of the finest livestock in the area. He was a member of Hermon Methodist Church, a veteran of The U.S. Army having served in World War II in The African and European Theatres. He served as a Communication Specialist while in the service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Chandler O'Dell; three brothers, Porter O'dell, Major O'Dell and Finley O'Dell; three sisters, Hattie O'Dell, Gladys O'Dell Kempson and Cora Mae O'Dell Humpreys. He is survived by: one daughter, Linda O'Dell Brown; 2 sisters, Lucille Payne of Greeneville and Mary Dockery of Maryville, TN; several nieces and nephews; 1 special friend, Ruth Gibbs of Greeneville. Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Kiser Funeral Chapel. Interment 1:00 p.m. Friday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens, Rev. Jim Fillers and Dr. Joe Miller officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. preceding the service. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery on Friday afternoon for the graveside service. Kiser Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
