JENKINS , JAMES HERCHELL - age 89, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, October 15, 2001, at Southern Regional Hospital in Riverdale, Ga. Member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church. Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Survivors: wife, Gertrude Magill Jenkins ; daughter, Darlene Burchfield of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Kenneth Jennings of Peachtree City, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Marty Jenkins of Riverdale, Ga.; grandchildren, Doug Jenkins of Athens, Ga., Ricky Jenkins of McDonough, Ga., and Heather Jennings of Knoxville; great-granddaughter, Tayler Layne and Brittany Nicole Jenkins ; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Catherine Jenkins of Powell, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2001, Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel, Dr. Jack Parrott and Dr. J. M. Ramage officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday, October 19, 2001, at 10 a.m. in Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for interment service with full military honors by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
