Whaley, Joyce Marie – age 73, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 18, 2008. She was a member of Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. Joyce was a graduate of Young High School and attended Carson-Newman College. She was a retired legal secretary with over 40 years of service in several Knoxville law firms. Joyce was a woman of beauty and grace who lived a life of love and service to her Lord, her family, and her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Whaley and father, Morris Julian. Survivors Survivors include mother, Ethel Julian; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Phil Johnson; daughter, Sylvia Whaley; grandchildren, Blake Johnson and wife, Angie, Bethany Schultz and husband, Corey, Logan Johnson, Caleb Whaley and Cam Whaley; brothers, Harold Julian and wife, Ada, Lynn Julian and wife, Laura; and a host of loving family and friends. Service The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Lake Forest Presbyterian Church with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM, Rev. Jason Haas and Rev. Mark Williams officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment service. Memorials may be made to the Lake Forest Presbyterian Building Fund, 714 E. Lake Forest Dr., Knoxville, TN 37920. The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Miller, the U.T. nurses on 12E and the hospice nursing staff for their compassionate care.
