DUNLAP, MARTHA BREWER - age 78 passed away suddenly March 20, 2008 at Elmcroft Assisted Living. Martha was born October 18, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Clarsie and Charles Patterson Brewer. Mrs. Dunlap had a long career at Kimball's Jewelers beginning at the Gay Street store in the 1950's. In 1965 she was elected the first female Vice President of Kimball's. Mrs. Dunlap was involved in merchandising and also the gold jewelry buyer. In 1972 Mrs. Dunlap relocated and managed Kimball's new store at West Town Mall which she also helped in designing. When Kimball's Jewelers moved to The Gallery, Martha was manager until her retirement in 1995. Mrs. Dunlap was loved by all and will forever be missed. Martha was a past member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church and also attended Cornerstone Church of God. She was preceded in death by husband, Bill J. Dunlap and beloved sister, Christine Brewer Eckstein. She is survived by son, James Alan Dunlap; niece, Julia Robinson and husband Mike; nephews, Will and John Robinson who brightened each day of her life; niece, Debby Hahn of Keller, Texas; niece, Jama Riechling; very special friend, LaGonda Allen and Eloise Brown. The family will receive friends Monday March 24 from 12 -2 pm with a celebration of life service to follow. Committal service with be private for the family and close friends. Highland Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Dunlap.
