Ruble Neal Frazier of Fort White died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville; following a brief illness he was 101.
Mr. Frazier was born June 30, 1903, in Newport, TN, he moved to Fort White 32 years ago from Lake Butler, FL. He was a farmer from the hills of Tennessee moving to Lake Butler and farming there till he retired in the late 60’s. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He loved working in his yard, telling stories from years gone by, friends and most of all his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie Simpson Frazier and Sally Holder Frazier of Newport, TN. Two sons Hal Frazier (Newport, TN) and Charles H. Frazier (Lake City); three brothers, Arlie Frazier (Newport, TN), Cecil Frazier (Morristown, TN), and Perry Frazier (Black Mountain, NC); two sisters, Bertha Arms and Elsie Buckner (Newport, TN).
Mr. Frazier is leaving to carry on his family legacy, his wife of 79 years, Joyce Frazier; daughters, Marie Horton of Lake City, Dianna Cook (Donald) of Fort White and Winnifred Clevenger of Newport, TN; sons, Buck Frazier (Beck) of Fort White, Jimmy Frazier (Pat) of High Springs and Ronald Frazier (Susan) of Fort White; sister, Katherine Shelton of Newport, TN; twenty grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 1, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred McCray officiating. Interment will follow in the Ft. White City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday June 30, 2005 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Guery Funeral Home 2659 SW Main Blvd., Lake City, Florida is in charge of all arrangements.
