James Ottinger, age 77 of Newport passed away Thursday November, 17, 2005 at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center.
James was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Garfield and Cora Sisk Ottinger; sisters, Pauline and Edna Ottinger; brothers, Glen, Forrest, Curtis and Lloyd Ottinger; grandson, Adam Blake Susong. He is survived by his daughters, Lynda Bartlett and her husband Keith of Mosheim, Joyce Wooten of Nashville; sister, Beulah Maloney of Telford, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Nina and Charlie Fullington of Newport; grandchildren, Ben Susong and wife Christy of Morristown, Jake Bartlett and Clare Bartlett of Mosheim, Nickki Wooten of Nashville; great-grandsons, Andrew Blake Susong and Arron Albright of Morristown; two sisters-in-law, Jennie Ottinger and Beatrice Ottinger; also several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday November 18, 2005 at Manes Funeral Home.
Funeral services will immediately follow in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Wayne Dalton officiating.
Burial will be 12 noon Saturday November 19, 2005 in St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery, with the DAV conducting military honors.
