She attended Victory Church of God in Afton. She is survived by her husband, Ricci Verdi, of Afton; father-in-law, Wayne S. Verdi, of Afton; daughter, Crystal Crum, of Newport; grandson, Tanner Crum, of Newport; father and mother, Ronald and Barbara (Jo) Cates, of Newport; sisters and brothers-in-law, Reecie Cates-Livesay and Michael Livesay, of Newport, and Rhonda and L.D. Ottinger, of Newport; brother, Michael Cates, of Parrottsville; grandparents, Hattie Barnes, of Newport, Robert and Helen Grooms, of Newport; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. The funeral will be held 8 p.m. Sunday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Fillers officiating, with burial 11 a.m. Monday in Union Cemetery.
