(March 26, 1943 - October 15, 2008) Laura Patsy Owens, age 65, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2008 and went to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Owens; mother, Annie Gunter; and sister, Mary Ledford. Survivors include her sons, Tim Owens and Terry Owens and wife Sabra; and grandson Garrett; sisters, Reba Forrester and husband Kenneth, Martha Click; brother, Paul Gunter; several nieces, nephews and special friends. Special thanks to nieces, Anita and Missy, to the First Baptist Church in Sevierville and to the special caregivers that helped her complete her journey. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Friday, October 17, 2008 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Glenn Metts officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services. The burial will be 11:00 am, Saturday, October 18, 2008 in Union Cemetery.
