Maxine H. Dover, age 86, of Newport, passed away, Thursday, October 21, 2010 at her home. She attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of 37 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Dover; parents, Clemon and Ada Horton; sister, Theda Vinson; brother-in-law, Wayne Vinson; and great niece Shelley Strange. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Kay Dover of Newport; grandchildren, Lori Deering and husband Scott of Newport, Alan Dover and wife Samantha of Smyrna, TN; great-grandchildren, Kevin and Alex Deering, and Kellen Dover; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Robert Harer, of Newport; special niece, Joy Strange and her husband Larry, great nephew, Jordan Strange; great niece, Kelli Strange; nephews, Danny Dover and wife, Gwen of Newport; niece, Doris Ottinger, all of Newport; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie and Marshall Williams of Ohio; also other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. The family would life to say a special thank you to Dr. Conway and Kim Thomas for the care they provided. Funeral services will be held 7:30 pm Friday, October 29, 2010 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Edward Young, Rev. Ransom Hall and Rev. Mike Jenkins officiating. Burial will be 10:00 am, Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 pm Friday October 29, 2010 at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
