Mr. Charles Huff Sr., age 87 of Newport passed away Saturday morning February 4, 2006 at Newport Health and Rehabilitation. He retired from Stokely Van Camp's and was a Baptist by faith.
Mr. Huff was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nannie Lou Huff; granddaughter, Debra K. Webb; great-granddaughter, Gabriel Valentine; several brothers, sisters and friends.
His survivors include his wife of 67 years, Birtell Huff of Newport; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Jr. and Marilyn Huff of Newport and Alvin and Reba Huff of Gatlinburg; daughter, Laurine Valentine; daughter and son-in-law, Lois J. and Charles E. Gregg all of Newport; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Mark and Lisa Valentine of Bybee; grandsons, Chad E. Gregg of Knoxville and Gary Huff of Newport; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kathy L and Tim Smart of N.C.; granddaughter, June Darlene Valentine of Newport, Gwendolyn Huff of Jefferson City, and Tracie Huff of Kentucky; eleven great-great grandchildren, three step great-great grandchildren, and one step great-great-great granddaughter; sister, Marie Huff Lancaster of Newport; additional survivors include several nieces and nephews including special nephew, Buddy S. Huff of Newport.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday February 7, 2006 at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Woodson officiating. Interment will be held in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Family and friends will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mark Valentine, Gary Huff, Chad Gregg, Josh Webb, Buddy S. Huff, and Carroll Huff. Arrangements by Costner-Maloy.
