Alma Annette “Mammie” Gibson, born February 7, 1920, went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2014 at home surrounded by family. She worked at 25/70 Truck Stop from 1971 until 1991. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mattie O’Neil; husband, Robert Gibson; daughter Bobbie Jean Phillips; sisters, Maude Dotson and Willie Mae Cureton; brothers, Clyde O’Neil Jr., and Cleo O’Neil; special companion, Perry “Boss” France. Her survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and James Winter of Cosby; grandchildren, Leann (Tony) Gooderham, Tina (Robert) Shelton, and Jennifer Jones all of Cosby; great grandchildren, Brandon (Megan) Massey, Courtney Bible, Samantha Boykin, Skylan Corum, Peyton Corum Burgin, Courtany Gooderham all of Cosby, Katlyn Jones of Morristown, Cheyenne McCaffery, Alex McCaffery, Stephanie Gooderham, and Justin Wooten all of Florida; great-great grandchildren, Ethan Massey, Amber Gooderham, Nevaeh Deardoff kiayah Barnett, Kailee Gorman, Zaiden Buckner all of Cosby, and Addyson Hall all of Florida. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Fine and Rev. Cleo Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will take place on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 11:00 am in Union Cemetery.
