Jimmie L. McNabb, 71, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Newport, died Monday, June 5, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He worked in plant protection for 32 years for General Motors, formerly Chevy Truck & Bus, Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was a member of the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church of Newport and V.F.W. Ernie Pyle Post #1120, Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was a veteran having served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Lucy McNabb.
He is survived by his wife, Myrna D. Cureton McNabb of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Steve Bartek of Avon, Indiana; daughter, Angela D. Heid; son, M. Shawn McNabb, both of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren, Kristina D. and Kevin D. Heid and Cole A. Bartek; brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Mildred McNabb of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Kenneth and Edythe McNabb of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Charles and Rita McNabb of Eustis, Florida; and sister, Irene Wiley of Kingsport, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Saturday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Richey officiating, with burial at 3 p.m. Sunday at Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday prior to the funeral at Manes Funeral Home in Newport, Tennessee.
