(November 7, 1913 - October 4, 2008) L. Viola Phillips age 94, former wife of the late Rev. Kermit Phillips, passed away Saturday evening, Oct. 4, 2008. She was a member of the Morristown Church of God. She loved her Lord and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Mary Walker, great grandson Mickey Lee Phillips. She is survived by her son Arnold Dale Phillips, and wife Pat of Newport, daughter Brenda Ann Reese and husband Buddy of Coldwater, Mississippi, grandchildren Paladin Phillips of Newport, Kermit Lee Phillips of Newport, Amy Gann and husband Tim of Charleston, S.C., great grandchildren Andy Taylor Phillips of Newport, Skylar Gann, Zackary Gann, and Gabriel Gann all of Charleston, S.C., also a special niece Mildred Dunn of Cadwell, Georgia. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 7, 2008 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Ball and Rev. Gary Ball officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 8, 2008 in Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday prior to the services. Manes Funeral Home is in charge.
