Charlie George Clabo, 77, of Sevierville died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at the Methodist North Hospital in Memphis.
He was a trustee at Valley View Baptist Church and served during World War II as a medic.
His parents were Edgar L. and Ellen Clabo.
He is survived by his wife, Nena Clabo of Memphis; children and spouses, Denny and Nancy Clabo of Pigeon Forge, David and Kay Clabo, Pat and Steve Wright, both of Sevierville; five grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mattie and Tim Reagan of Sevierville, Florence Ownby of Cumberland, Va., Mae Ogle of Knoxville, Della and Herb Clabo of Gatlinburg; three great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Rob and Linda Collins of Jackson, Miss., Gordon and Debra Paine of Memphis, Larry and Rhonda Richardson of Pascagoula, Miss.; and three stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Ownby Clabo and two sisters.
Service was Wednesday at Rawlings Funeral Chapel. Interment will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Valley View Cemetery.

CLABO, CHARLIE GEORGE - 77, of Sevierville passed away Monday, August 7, 2000 at the Methodist North Hospital in Memphis. Mr. Clabo was a trustee at the Valley View Baptist Church, served his country during WWII as a medic and retired from Cherokee Textile Mill. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Ownby Clabo; parents, Edgar L. and Ellen King Clabo; sisters, Blanch Kiefer and Lucille McCarter.
He is survived by his wife, Nena Clabo of Memphis; children and spouses, Denny and Nancy Clabo of Pigeon Forge, David and Kay Clabo, Pat and Steve Wright, both of Sevierville; grandchildren and spouses, Dan and Lisa Headrick, Denise and Phil Teaster, Nikki and Dennis Hurst, Dennis Clabo, Brandon and Heather Clabo; sisters and brothers in law, Mattie and Tim Reagan of Sevierville, Florence Ownby of Cumberland, Va., Mae Ogle of Knoxville, Della and Herb Clabo of Gatlinburg; great grandchildren, Rebekah and Elizabeth Teaster, Ashli Hurst; step children, Rob and Linda Collins of Jackson, Miss., Gordon and Debra Paine of Memphis, Tenn., Larry and Rhonda Richardson of Pascagoula, Miss.; step grandchildren, Lindsay Collins, Ashley Hardin and Lori Issacson. Service will be 8 p.m. Wednesday August 9, at Rawlings Funeral Chapel. Interment will be 11 a.m. Thursday August 10 at Valley View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday August 9 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
