He was a retired press metal operator with General Motors with 36 years of service. Ron was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the 82nd Airborne Division, and was a member of the Chesterfield American Legion Post 74. He was a member of Westfield Creek Baptist Church. Ron enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a true “people person”. In addition to his parents, Ron was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis Workman McCoig; a son, Dewayne McCoig;, a daughter, Renee McCoig; and by one brother and three sisters. SURVIVORS: 1 Son: Russell S.
