He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Martin Marietta, after 35 years of service. Preceded in death by mother and stepfather, Dora Evans (James) Bowles; father, Fred Evans; brother, Tommy Evans; grandparents, Charles and Ella Brabson, Sr. Survived by loving wife, Regina Evans; son, Charles Evans, Jr.; daughters, Dr. Avice (Gary) Reid; Cheryl Glenn, all of Knoxville; Meredith Evans, Dublin, California; nephew whom he raised as a son, Kai Steven (Ann) Armstrong, Virginia Beach, Virginia; granddaughters, Althea (Marcus) Jones and Ranita Glenn, Chattanooga, Tennessee; Jacquetta (John) Baldwin, Lawrenceville, Georgia; LaSarah Riddick, Norfolk, Virginia; great grandson, McCorey Jones; great granddaughter, Asia Riddick; sister, Louella (Bishop Gilford) Hill, Cleveland, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Dora Gash, Elsie Walters, Bishop G.R. (Dera) Hill, Eric (Norma) Hill, Cecillia (Rev.
