HARRISON, GEORGE B. - age 86, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at his residence. Mr. Harrison was a long time resident of the Seymour area. He retired from the Aluminum Co. of America with 34 years of service, and was a member of the 25 Year Club. He was a member and Deacon of Boyds Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his parents, Parker T. and Stella Harper Harrison, a sister, Lillian Wiley, and four brothers, R. A. Harrison, Franklin Harrison, Fleming Harrison, and Leon Harrison. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Jenkins Harrison; sons and daughters-in-law, Freddie Harrison, Robert and Norma Harrison, Dan and Carolyn Harrison, Roger and Thelma Harrison, and G. B. and Oleda Harrison; daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Paul Ellis, Mary Ruth and Ray Helton, Elizabeth and Bob Singleton, Kathy and Ken Wheeler, and Faye and Ken Norton; sisters, Christine Weir, Juandine Weir, Frances Bacon, Janie Coffee, and Cora Meta Smiley; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Entombment services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Highland South Cemetery Mausoleum. Mr. Harrison's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family request, memorial contributions be made to Baptist Hospice or to Boyds Creek Baptist Church. Arrangements by Highland South Funeral Home, 573-7300.
