McMAHAN, LLOYD BAXTER, SR. - age 86 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2006. Preceded in death by: parents, Sam Paris and Lessie Garner McMahan; brothers, Paris, John, Cleo Flon; sisters, Celeste, Lucinda, Una Marcia; devoted niece, Senora McMahan. Survived by: sons, Lloyd B. Jr. (Michelle) and Corino E.S. (Karen); devoted nieces, Lessie Lee Betts, Izetta Johnson, Marcia Vaughn and Johnnie Hardy; along with six grandchildren. A graduate from Tennessee State University 1939, cum laude, member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., United States Army veteran and a Mason. He retired from General Motors Corporation in 1985. He worked in the construction business as a brick mason for forty years and is the last of a generation of McMahans well known in East Tennessee for their construction of many buildings in Sevier and Knox Counties. He will be sadly missed. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 12:30-1:00 p.m. with services to follow at Unity Mortuary Chapel.
