CLIFTON, MARTHA HUFFAKER KING - age 91 of Knoxville, went to be with her Lord, and Savior Saturday, January 19, 2002. Mrs. Clifton was a housewife who loved gardening, canning, and helping other people. She worked with Cub Scouts for many years. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church since December 9, 1956. Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Nora Huffaker; 2 sisters; 2 brothers and son, Keneth Rae King. Survivors: include husband of 56 years, LeRoy Clifton; and sons, H.C. James Stanley (Shorty) and Curtis King, Arthur, Jackie and R.V. Clifton and David Brown. She has 8 grandsons; 8 granddaughters; 9 great grandsons; 9 great granddaughters, 4 great-great grandsons; and 4 great-great granddaughters. Funeral services will be held Monday January 21, 2002 at 8 p.m. in the Evergreen Chapel with Rev. Archie Elliott and Rev. Mike Vincent officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. Family and friends will meet in the Pollard Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday for an 11 a.m. interment service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 6715 Sunnyview Rd. Knoxville, Tenn. 37914. Evergreen Chapel and Memorial Gardens 7426 Asheville Hwy. in charge of arrangements.
