Clara Gregory Heaton, age 91, of Maryville, born October 3, 1913, in Carnsville, GA, passed away Thursday morning, June 16, 2005, at the family home. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of Eastern Star and The Cades Cove Preservation Association. She was preceded in death by her husband Roe ''Curley'' Heaton; parents, Perley J. and Dora Catherine Gregory; great-grandchildren, Callie Rausch and David Rausch; brothers, Greely, Melvin, Paul, Hugh, Glenn, and Wilbur Gregory; sisters, Ivalee Effler and Ethel Gregory; and son-in-law, John McCarter. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Wilma Heaton of Maryville and Stanley and Charlotte Heaton of Louisville, KY; daughters and sons-in-law, Alma and Jim Haven and Carol and Frank Curtis of Maryville; daughter, Mary McCarter of Maryville; grandchildren, Mike Heaton, Jimmy Haven, Rick Haven, Warren Heaton, Tina Heaton, and Connie Rausch; great-grandchildren, Joe Heaton, Scott Heaton, Stan Heaton, Seth Rausch, Caleb Haven, Cassi Rausch, and Crystal Correll; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Polly Gregory of Alcoa; sisters-in-law, Jessie Heaton of Maryville and Julia Gregory of Walland; and several nieces and nephews and special friends that she was an adopted grandmother to, who she loved very much. Family and friends will meet at Nelson Chapel Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2005 for the graveside service and interment, Rev. Ray Caldwell and Rev. Glenn Riddle officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
