October 3, 1936 - March 23, 2015 Resided in Seymour, TN Wilma Faye (Fugate) Stoffle, age 78 of Seymour, passed away Monday, March 23. Wilma graduated from Harrison-Chilhowee Baptist Academy in 1955 and was a member of Dupont Baptist Church. Wilma was a sweet, compassionate soul, loving and beloved by family and friends. She graduated from Fort Sanders Nursing School in 1958, influencing many whose paths she crossed as an RN. Her first love in nursing was psychiatric care, leading to positions at Eastern State Hospital, Peninsula Hospital, and Overlook Mental Health Clinic. Wilma also worked part-time for a small medical practice while raising her young family. She was the first full-time public school nurse employed by Sevier County in the 1970s, eventually retiring from the school system. Wilma loved animals, hiking, reading and the Lady Vols. We will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents Teddy C. and Allie Fugate and her brother Thomas W. Fugate. Wilma is survived by her sons, Bobby (Pamela), Samuel (Cindy), and Timothy (Lynette); her sister Ruth (Ed) Cowan; her grandchildren Jacob, Seth (Lauren), Caleb, Sarah, Daniel, Nikita, and Aaron Stoffle, Kristi (Keith) Crowe, and Meleah McCammon; the father of her children Raymond Stoffle; special family friend Sandy Burnett, along with many loved nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday with funeral service to follow at 8 PM in the Seymour Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, with Rev. Raymond Burnett and Rev. David Burnette officiating.
