Services for Willard Houston Ledbetter , 73, of Cedartown, Georgia , formerly of Piedmont, was Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Clark Smart and Rev. R. B. Hulsey officiating. Burial followed at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Ledbetter died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Ledbetter of Cedartown; three daughters, Kim Garmany (Jackie) of Ball Play, Karen Ledbetter of Eastoboga and Paula Davidson (Greg) of Hokes Bluff; three step-sons, Buster Akins (Susan) of Rockmart, Georgia, Clyde Akins of Cedartown, Georgia and John Akins (Maureen) of Aragon, Georgia; three step-grandsons, Kenneth Akins, Patrick Akins and Alex Akins; one step-granddaughter, Misty Sanders; two step great-granddaughters; five brothers, Carl Ledbetter (Lucille), James Ledbetter (Doris), Kenny Ledbetter (Mary), Donald Ledbetter (Margaret) and Darrell Ledbetter (Shirley) all of Maryville, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were family and friends.
Mr. Ledbetter was a native of Walland, Tennessee and a resident of Cedartown, Georgia for the past 5 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran a member of Friendly Baptist Church in Cedartown, Georgia, and a former member of Faith Baptist Church in Piedmont. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ada Ledbetter and three brothers and one sister.
