Mr. Daniel Ball, 84, of Hartford, went to be with his Lord Saturday, October 14, 2006, at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army in WWII, a member of the DAV, occupationally retired and of the Baptist faith. Mr.Ball is preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Annie Gunner Ball; wife, Bonnie Frazier Ball; one son, Danny Ball; two sisters, Martha Phillips and Belvie Carver; and one brother, Scott Ball. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Sprouse Ball, of the home; one child, Donna Sue Woody, of Maggie Valley, N.C.; five step-children, Anna Jane and husband Randy Holt, of Hartford; Ralph and Angie Gates, of Newport; Gene and Sherry Gates, of Cosby; Martha Gates, of Hartford; and Bethel Lee and Bill Jenkins, of Cosby. He is also survived by his brother, Junior and Helen Ball, of Newport, and two sisters, Sue Smith and Goldie McGaha, of New Jersey. Mr. Ball will also be sadly missed by 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2006, at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Henderson and the Rev. Jim Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Clark Cemetery, Hartford. Brown Funeral Home has been honored to provide the final arrangements for Mr. Daniel Ball.
