Bill Thomas, age 39 of Sevierville, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 after a battle with lung cancer. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Heaven Bound Church. He worked in masonry and loved his work, hunting and four-wheeling with his friends. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Shadow Lee Thomas; loving brother, Merle Thomas; and father Jim Leonard who was a special caregiver until his death.
He is survived by his Precious daughters: Brittany Rader and Tessa Thomas; Loving mother and caregiver: Sharon Leonard; Father: Lawton Thomas and wife Terry; Loving brother and caregiver: Scotty Thomas and wife Sandy; Half-Sister: Kim Webb and husband Tex; Special nephew: Colby Thomas; Mother of his children: Alycia Rader Thomas; Several aunts, uncles and extended family; Special caregivers: Jo Ann Gibson, Emma Holt, Patty Hurst, Lisa Davis, and daughter Kennedy, Brenda Stott, Sara Jane Quindry, Barbara Herron, Gerri Evans, Donna Maner, and Janie Galyon.
The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Hospice nurse, Estelle Taylor, and social worker Denise Brock.
Funeral service 7 PM Thursday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Whitted officiating and a eulogy will be given by Barbara Herron. Interment 11 AM Friday in Thomas Cemetery on Ball Hollow Rd. Serving as pallbearers will be his special friends: Horace Rolen, Stanley and Gerald Van Rhea, Harlan and Anthony Thomas, and Mike Sebers. Honorary pallbearers will be his best friend, Pat Rhea, Clinton Rhea, Bob Maner, and Reggie Williams. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
