ADAMS, VIRGINIA ELDNER ROMINES - passed away on October 12, 2006 at her home in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. She was a long time active member of Strawberry Plains United Methodist Church, member of Carter Homemakers Club, active in the Knox County Democratic Party, and served as chairman of the Thorngrove Precinct for many years. Former owner of the S & S Drive-In, Trader Bills supper club, Eddie's Package Store all in Knoxville, and the Tennessee Huddle restaurant in Daytona Beach, Florida. Born August 23, 1926 to Oda and Cleo Underwood Romines. Preceeded in death by her husband William Neal Adams, parents, brothers Charlie and Jimmy Romines, mother-in-law and father-in-law Joe and Ouida Adams, sisters-in-law Carolyn Burns and Pheobe Kate Tarvin, and nephews Mike Romines and Teddy Tarvin. Survived by: son, Stephen Allen Adams, daughter Susan and husband Jim Seals, brother Johnny and wife Wanda Romines all of Strawberry Plains. Grandchildren: Chris Adams, Gina Adams Fawver and husband Rick, Christy Jo Seals, and Jennifer R. Seals. Great grandchildren: Andrew Thomas Fawver and William Carter Adams. Aunt: Bertha Mae Young of Hermitage. Nieces: Juanita Romines Warwick of Montana, Debra Romines Frazier of Knoxville, Jean 'Buddie' Costley of Georgia, Mary Jo Tarvin of Knoxville, Melissa Burns Pinney of South Carolina. Great nieces and nephews: Kea Costley, Kate Costley, Holly Hill Dougal, Matthew Hill, Jonathan Pinney, Keela Romines, Stewart Tarvin, Cassie Romines Wilson. Great great niece and nephew: Skyler Hill, Lane Hill, Michaela Wilson. Special friends 'The Golden Girls': Billie Clift, Grace Ellis, Jean Underwood Fox, Helen Moffett, Evelyn Morrell, Jean Neil, Gladys Ellison Rader, and Betty Walker. Body will in lie in state for one hour prior to service at the church. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Strawberry Plains United Methodist Church with Rev. John Crabtree, Rev. David Brown, Rev. Tim Tatum, Rev. Calvin B. Thomas, Rev. JoAnn Weir, and Rev. John Brewster officiating. Interment will follow in Beech Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers and attendants: Mike Black, Erik Brooks, Mike Chollman, Matthew Clift, Mack Emmert, Nicholas Faulkner, R.L.
