MILLER , AMMONE WOOD, age 93, of the Medford community near Lake City, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2002 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of the Clinch River Baptist Church in Lake City. She received her college education from Lincoln Memorial University and was a retired school teacher. She taught her first two years in Campbell County at Agee and Pine Crest. She taught 28 years at the Medford Elementary School in Anderson County. She was a member of the Anderson County Teacher's Association, the Tennessee Teacher's Association, a member of Lake City's Keen Club, a member of Coal Creek Chapter No. 225 Eastern Star, and a member of the Family and Community Education Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Miller of 54 years; parents William Rule and Lucy Mae Irwin Wood; sisters, Mable Bolinger, Dorothy Vowell, and Margaret Davis; brothers J. Will & Sam Wood. Survivors: son Billy Joe Miller & wife, Betty Seeber Miller of Lake City, TN; granddaughter Regina Miller of Lake City, TN; great-granddaughter Misty Miranda Miller of Lake City, TN; sister Bessie Ridenour of Newport, TN; caregivers Gale Campbell & Martha Evans; and a host of special friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 14, 2002 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with the funeral service following at 8:00 PM in the Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Byrge, Rev. Larry Webster, and Rev. Robbie Leach officiating. Interment will be Friday, February 15, 2002 at 10:30 AM at the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Clinch River Baptist Church, 407 Cane Creek Road, Lake City, TN. Pallbearers will be great-nephews. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City is in charge of all arrangements.
