Eugene Franklin Dixon, 69 of Seymour died March 7, 2005. Mr. Dixon served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959 as an airplane mechanic. He also was a retired member of the Iron Workers Union of Taylor Wharton Company of Cincinnati, OH. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife: Mary Ruth Davis; daughter: Nancy Elizabeth Collins; grandson: Timothy Shawn Dixon; granddaughter: Crystal Michelle Cooper; father: Fredrick W. Dixon; mother: Rutha Hembree Dixon; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Evan Davis, Jr., Mr. snd Mrs. Eugene Lowery; and brother-in-law: Joseph Easterly.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Billy King, Mary and William Lane; sons: Jimmy Dixon and Franklin Dixon; daughter: Beverly Taylor; brothers and sisters-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. James Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. David Dixon, and Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Dixon; brother: Charles Dixon; and sister: Blanche Easterly; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Tuckaleechee Primitive Baptist Church in Townsend with Rev. Richard Walker officiating. Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery with military honors conducted by The Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Memorial Funeral Home Tuesday, March 8, 2005 between 6 p.m and 8 p.m. and at the church Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Condolences may be emailed to Memorialfh@yahoo.com
