Frederick Paul Triplett, 79 of Maryville departed this life in the early morning of November 6, 2008 with his loving wife, Doris and devoted daughters, Paula McCarter and Harriet Brown with granddaughter-in-law, Erika McCarter by his side. Paul was a faithful member and Sunday School Teacher at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he enjoyed many friends who will remember him for his wit and devotion. He was a veteran of the United States Army Combat Engineers, serving in Germany as a Demolition Expert. He retired from UT Maintenance Department. He enjoyed traveling, completing puzzles, woodworking, and was an avid reader. Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 53 years, Doris Lindsay Triplett, daughters, Paula McCarter and husband, Danny, Harriett Brown and husband, Dewayne; Grandchildren and spouses, James McCarter (Erika), Joshua McCarter (Kim), Jacob McCarter (Beth), Paul Arab & Jama Arab; six Great-Grandchildren, Tyler, Drake, Raigan, Kaleb and Kaylee McCarter, and Logan Hurst will greatly miss their Papaw; Paul also leaves three remaining siblings, James Triplett, Jay Abbott, and Gypsy Guinn. Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Myrtle Triplett and sisters, Jacquelin Oglesby and Hope White. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Friday, November 7, 2008 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Long, Rev. Joe Chandler, and Rev. David Sayne officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hills/Highland South Cemetery in Knoxville. Please join us in celebration of Paul’s life, memory and passing.
