Sanders Park West Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gatlinburg. He was actively involved in the United Methodist Men in his local church as well as the Holston Conference United Methodist Men. Mr. Norwood had a lifelong involvement with the Boy Scouts of America and had been awarded the Eagle Scout, Silver Beaver and the God in Service Awards. He was also a mason and was a member of the Corinth Lodge # 116, Corinth, Mississippi, Knoxville Scottish Rite Bodies and Kerbela Temple. He was a member of the Gatlinburg Rotary Club. Mr. Norwood served as General Agent for Franklin Life Insurance Company. Mr. Norwood was preceded in death by his father Dr. Carl Weston Norwood, Sr.; mother Cynthia Aileen Davenport Norwood; and brother Dr. Carl Weston Norwood, Jr. Survivors: Wife: Frances Richesin Norwood Daughter and son-in-law: Anna Lisa and Brad Oakley Grandchildren: Joshua, Curtis and Hannah Oakley Sister-in-law: Mallie Norwood Nieces and nephews: Carl Weston Norwood, III, Michelle, David and Amy Richesin, Donna Shoopman, Jeffrey Reynolds, Shane Wilkerson Funeral service 7 PM Thursday, May 16th at the First United Methodist Church in Gatlinburg with the Reverend Eric Rieger, the Reverend Harper Sasser and the Reverend Spurgeon McCartt officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:30 AM Friday, May 17th at Proffitt Cemetery for Masonic graveside service and interment.
