He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. He retired from Alcoa and was a member of the 25 Year Club. Joe enjoyed bee keeping and wood working. Preceded in death by wife, Helen Houser. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Joe and Shirley Houser of VA, Don and Lane Houser of NC; grandchildren, Donna, Teresa, Steven, Todd and Karen; nine great grandchildren; sister, Mary Parr of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law, Geneva Jennings, Irene Burchell, Reba Ivens, Wilma Johnson, and Stella Myers; brothers-in-law, Dave Blazier and Kenneth Blazier. Special thanks to his neighbors, Ted and Florence Belitz and care giver, Peggy Hamilton.
