COOK , FINIS EARL - 80, of Sevierville, passed away Monday, May 24, 1999 at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center. Mr. Cook was a member of First Baptist Church of Sevierville, extremely active in American Legion Post #104, helped with Boy Scouts, Sevier County Rescue Squad, AARP and Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center Volunteer Auxillary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Finis L. and Ludie Jewell Downs Cook ; brothers, Rupert and Joseph Cook ; sisters, Barbara Seese and Louise Cook ; step-son, Luther Caughron, Jr.. Earl is survived by his wife, Dorothy Cowden Cook of Sevierville; daughter and husband, Evelyn and Michael Slagle of Sevierville; grandchildren, Emily and Maria Pitruzzelo of Sevierville; step-granddaughter and husband, Cheri and Jim Czajkowski of Sevierville; step-great-grandchildren, Josh and Zack Czajkowski of Sevierville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alpha and Andy Seese of Webster, Fla., Lois and Teen Barrow of Centralia, Illinois. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 27, at Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Ely and Dr. Rich Liner officiating. Interment will follow the service at Bethel Cemetery with Military Rites being performed by The Marine Reserve Delta Company 4th Combat Engineer Battalion out of Knoxville. Members of American Legion Post #104 and The Sevier County Rescue Squad will act as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Rawlings Funeral Home.
